I know, I am right there with you.
And if you tried to find some good quick tips about what to do, you probably got frustrated.
I sure I did.
So here is the argument that won me over & a couple links to good getting started info . . .
Why Small Businesses Should Get on Google Plus
Lately, I have been reading Chris Brogan’s book Google+ for Business.
He has lots of interesting ideas about strategy in there, but most importantly, he has several reasons why we should be paying attention to Google Plus.
The number one reason is that it can help your organic search ranking.
That is enough right there!
And then if you want to find local customers & you do Google+ Local as well, it will help those local customers find you.
Let’s say it again in a different way . . . if I share relevant content publicly on Google Plus, it will help people find me via Google search & see what I am about. This is pretty huge since Google search is what people use already when they want to find businesses to help them and other social networks cannot claim this benefit.
Sounds worth it!
And then of course there is a lot of potential to build relationships using the free video chat feature (called Hangout).
Getting Started on Google Plus . . .
There is quite a bit of agreement that you want to spend some time on your profile and setting your circles up. And then get going sharing great content, of course. For more details:
- Chris Brogan also has this nice article here if you aren’t ready for the book yet.
- And this article is pretty good too with ideas for what to do at first.
I am off to share on Google Plus . . . will I see you there?
